Many had thought that all Yoruba Actors and Actress were Yoruba or are born Yoruba... but that is not the case as a couple of thespians in this make believe world are from other tribes aside Yoruba yet they have been able to prove the mettle among Yoruba born actors.


1) Fathia Balogun



Faithia Balogun was born on the 5th of February, 1969 is a Nigerian Actress, Film-maker, Producer and Director. She was born in Ikeji, Lagos. She is a descent of Okpara, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State. She started acting Yoruba movies upon her relocating from Dublin where she was based to Lagos. She later married popular Yoruba actor Saidi Balogun.


2) Liz Da Silva



Elizabeth Omowunmi Tekovi Da Silva is a Nigerian Nollywood actress and producer born in Obalende, Lagos. She was born to a Togolese parents. She features mostly in Yoruba indigenous movies and started her professional acting career in 2004 after she was introduced by star actress Iyabo Ojo.


3) Kelvin Ikeduba



Kelvin Ikeduba was born on the 21st of August, 1976 in Delta state as Kelvin Ngozi Ikedubah. He is the first child of his family, after him was another two boys and two girls and spent virtually all his growing up years in Ebute-Metta (west), Lagos Nigeria. Actor Kelvin Ikeduba can be considered one of Nollywood’s most dynamic talents not only because of his ability to interpret roles like a master, but also because he is one of the few stars in the industry that makes films in both English and Yoruba.
 He started acting as an English actor but later dumped acting in Nigerian English movies for Yoruba. Kelvin speaks English, Yoruba and Igbo conveniently.


4) Rykardo Agbor




Rykardo Oke Agbor is from Delta State which was located in the southern part of Nigeria... but was born and raised in Lagos state. He is an actor who was brought into the movie industry through a friend called Leo Maryln in 1995 and his debut movie is titled Visa to Hell. He is a Mass Communication graduate and one of the very few actors that features in both English and Yoruba Movies.
Like Kelvin Ikeduba, Rykardor who started from Nigerian English movies but is more at home in the Yoruba movie genre.


5) Mercy Aigbe



Mercy Aigbe Gentry was born on the 1st ofJanuary, 1979. Is a Nigerian Actress, Director and Businesswoman. She is best known for her Yoruba movies. She was born in Edo State Nigeria, and she is the second child of his family after her was another three. 
Mercy Aigbe emerged best dressed at the recently held African magic viewer’s choice awards. The banker turned Yoruba actress is from Benin, Edo state.


6) Doris Simeon



Doris Simeon is an award winning Yoruba and English, She was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Raised and schooled in Ojota area of Lagos, Nigeria, she started acting since 2001 in a Nollywood movie titled Oloju Ede. She graduated from the PEFT Institute, where she studied production management. She also took part in three episodes of the Papa Ajasco comedy series. She then had parts in Alakada, Ten Million Naira and Modupe Temi. She has also appeared in Eti Keta In 2010 she starred as Da Grin's girlfriend in Ghetto Dreamz. and co-produced with Omo Iya kan.
Doris Simeon is from Delta state. The mother of one started her acting career in the Yoruba genre of Nigerian movie. 


7) Toyin Aimakhu



Toyin Aimakhu was born on the 5th of September, 1984. Is a Nigerian Actress, Filmmaker, Director and Producer. She was born in Auchi, a town in Edo State in southern Nigeria, but spent her early life in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in southwestern Nigeria before relocating to Lagos after she graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Toyin Aimakhu recently starred in a movie called Black Val. 
  
8) Rachael Oniga



Racheal Oniga was born on the 23rd of May, 1957 is a Nigerian film actress. She was born at Eku, a town in Delta State southern Nigeria. She began her acting career in 1993, shortly after her divorce. She worked briefly at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company before her first movie titled Onome and her debut Yoruba movie was Owo Blow. Over the years, she has featured in many Nigerian films such as Sango, a movie scripted by Wale Ogunyemi, produced and directed by Obafemi Lasode and Wale Adenuga's television series Super story. Oniga features in mainly Yoruba movies and less of English. Oniga was married to a Yoruba man from Epe, Lagos state.


9) Rose Odika



This Ibadan based Yoruba actress hails from Aniocha North local government of Delta state. But she grew up in Ibadan.

10) Regina Chukwu



She hails from Enugu state but acts in Yoruba movies. Regina is a close ally of Iyabo Ojo.
